INDIANAPOLIS – Southwest Airlines has announced it will resume its nonstop flight from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) beginning Aug. 5, 2025.
“This will be our 52nd nonstop destination operating out of IND,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “It’s another win for our community partners who come alongside us to improve nonstop access to key business and leisure destinations.”
While other airlines operate flights to Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Southwest will be the only airline at the Indy airport flying into Chicago Midway.
The Chicago Midway nonstop returns after a five-year hiatus and will operate twice daily, year-round.
Also new in 2025, Southwest is launching a daily nonstop flight from Indy to Nashville (BNA) on March 6. The Indy airport pursued this key business and leisure destination for over seven years.
