COLUMBUS, Ind. – F.C. Tucker Company has awarded Columbus resident Bre Russell, a realtor in the Columbus office, its highest honor for volunteerism – the Bud Tucker Volunteer of the Year Franchise Award.
A former cardiac nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Russell transitioned into a real estate career to help families find their forever homes. She and two others helped establish Women’s United as part of United Way of Bartholomew County.
Under the direction of Russell and her partners, Women United has become a vital community resource for single mothers. The program helps those in or near poverty provide safety and security for their families by assisting with rent, bills, car repairs, and other expenses. It also advocates for better childcare and helps young children build strong reading skills and connect with mentors.
As the Membership and Engagement Chair for Women United, Russell plays a key role in growing the organization by engaging new members, raising funds, and securing community partnerships to benefit its crucial programs.
“Bre Russell is an inspiration – a masterclass in compassion and service. Her tireless volunteer efforts have transformed the lives of many Bartholomew County women and their families in need. We are pleased to recognize her unwavering commitment and extraordinary impact with the Bud Tucker Volunteer of the Year award,” said F.C. Tucker Company CEO Jim Litten.
