SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) announced Monday that a Flood Watch is in effect for south-central Indiana through Sunday morning, April 6. Flooding, caused by excessive rainfall, is possible.
Multiple rounds of heavy rain are predicted from late Wednesday through Saturday night. Flash flooding is a possibility from Wednesday night into Thursday, with significant river flooding potentially developing late this week into the weekend.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. NWS says extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers could develop.
The Flood Watch includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties.
