SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department (SFD) congratulates its two newest recruits. Carter Murphy and Will Gray became the newest members of the team when they were sworn in last week by Mayor Matt Nicholson.
Carter Murphy is a lifelong Seymour resident and is a second-generation firefighter. He is also employed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Jackson County EMS and holds an Indiana State Certification as a Fire Investigator. Carter is the son of James and Kristi Murphy.
Will Gray is also a lifelong resident of Seymour. He holds an Indiana State Certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and is currently obtaining his Fire Pumper/Operator certification. Will is the son of Kenny and Jane Gray.
While attending Seymour High School as seniors, Carter and Will both applied and were accepted into the Seymour Fire Department’s ride-along program.
