COLUMBUS, Ind. – Parkside Elementary School, at 1400 Parkside Dr. in Columbus, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony following mass renovations that began in 2022. The celebration will be on Monday, August 5, at 3:30 p.m.
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) says the two-year, $12 million project refurbished the facilities and classrooms and set students up for success with a state-of-the-art, collaborative learning environment.
Changes included a new STEM lab, large group instruction areas, dedicated spaces supporting students’ mental wellness, and gender-neutral restrooms.
Classrooms at Parkside Elementary School now feature more natural light, new flooring, cabinetry, and windows. Significant architectural features were preserved.
Brief comments and building tours will be available following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The BCSC event is open to the public.
