INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric J. Holcomb announced several appointments to various state boards and commissions this week.
One of those appointments was William W. Barrett, of Greenwood, who was named to the new Artificial Intelligence Task Force. He will serve until June 30, 2025.
Barrett is a partner in the law firm Williams, Barrett, and Wilkowski LLC, in Greenwood.
According to the law firm’s website, Barrett graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1984 and received his master’s from Indiana University in Bloomington, in 1986. He earned his law degree from IU in 1989.
From 1989 to 1994, he served as a Judicial Clerk and Senior Judicial Clerk on the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Tax Court.
Barret was a Deputy Prosecutor and Assistant Chief Deputy Prosecutor for Johnson County and then as Magistrate of the Johnson Circuit and Superior Courts from 1994 to 2000.
His public entity clients have included Johnson County Government, where he is the Litigation Attorney, the City of Franklin, the Town of Trafalgar, the Town of Cloverdale, the Town of Bargersville, and various police and fire merit boards in, Carmel, Franklin, Greenwood, and Trafalgar.
