GREENSBURG, Ind. – The Greensburg/Decatur County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) recently announced the recipients of their 2024 Teacher Grants, aimed at fostering innovation and enhancing educational opportunities for students in Decatur County. These grants, totaling $4,000, were awarded to four educators at Greensburg and North Decatur Jr-Sr High Schools.

At North Decatur Jr-Sr High School, Megan Schildknecht secured funding for a series of immersive field trips to Dallara Race Car Manufacturer, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Cummins Diesel Plant, aiming to expose students to the diversity and innovation within the manufacturing industry.
School counselors, Barb Lecher and Jennifer Bowling were awarded a grant to launch a sports officiating course, which will provide students with the necessary training and certification to become certified IHSAA officials.
These grants were made possible through the generous support of Napoleon State Bank, Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Nipro PharmaPackaging, and Honda, who continue to invest in the future of Decatur County’s workforce and education system.
