NORTH VERNON, Ind. — At the North Vernon City Council meeting on January 27, Bobby Willis was announced as the city’s new Park Director. He will replace Chad Speer, who has held the position since 2005. Willis’s first official day was Monday.
Willis is a Jennings County High School and Marion University graduate. He is married to Olivia Wildey Willis, and together, they have three daughters. Willis is also the high school girls’ varsity softball coach.
“I’m just thankful for the opportunity to continue serving our community,” Willis said at the Council meeting after he was introduced as the new Park Director. “I think the team you have assembled here is incredible. […] There’s a lot of work to do but I’m super excited.
