FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Recycling District (JCRD) and Shares, Inc. are hosting a document shredding event this Saturday, April 5, from a.m. to noon at the Recycling Center on Arvin Road in Franklin. It is free and open to all Johnson County residents and businesses.
Documents will be collected in locked containers and shredded off-site at Shares, Inc. in Shelbyville. If you are bringing large quantities of paper to be shredded, the paper should be in a container that can be left behind (boxes are preferred). No electronic or general recycling will be accepted.
Additionally, the Johnson County Tox Box, at 1051 Hospital Road, in Franklin, will be open for residential use by appointment only, from 9 a.m. to noon. To set up an appointment, visit the website JCRD.org.
The following items are accepted free of charge at the Tox Box:
- Household cleaning supplies
- Yard and pool chemicals
- Automotive fluids
- Poisons
- Aerosol cans
- Adhesives
- Oil-based paint and stain
No latex paints, batteries, or light bulbs will be accepted. The Tox Box is open to Johnson County residents only; no businesses, contractors, or small-quantity generators will be accepted.
